Job Description
Haile Gold Mine located in South Carolina is the largest gold mine on the East Coast of America. Our employees are at the heart of all we do. The asset protection officer will maintain vigilant oversight of gate access and operational control room via security camera systems. Safeguard personnel, company property, and assets. Ensure a secure environment, including managing critical emergency situations.
- Assume primary accountability for the safety and security of designated areas
- Conduct thorough patrols of assigned zones in strict adherence to established security protocols
- Proactively identify potential security threats and implement appropriate countermeasures
- Meticulously document all security incidents through comprehensive incident reports and required documentation
- Rigorously enforce proper credential verification for all employees and visitors accessing facilities (ID badges and passes)
- Swiftly respond to emergencies and incidents within designated areas, strictly adhering to established policies and procedures
- Provide professional assistance to employees and visitors, addressing concerns with utmost seriousness
- Initiate immediate escalation of emergency situations to External Emergency Agencies when necessary
- Maintain constant vigilance in monitoring alarm systems and surveillance cameras
- Conduct mandatory Drug & Alcohol testing for all employees, contractors, and visitors entering the premises
- Implement and oversee critical Emergency Training programs, including the execution of drills and evacuation procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; minimum age 21 years
- Ability to pass background checks and obtain South Carolina security guard license (through South Carolina Law Enforcement Division); valid Driver's License required
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in security techniques; ability to handle high-stress situations
- Physical capability to perform sustained activities, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and work 12-hour rotating shifts
- Willingness to work in surface mine plant setting with extreme conditions; strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements
