Process Operations Supervisor


Key Tasks

·         Actively drive HGM’s behaviour-based safety and environmental stewardship culture.

·         Fosters a high-performance work environment that encourages employee ownership and participation in safety, environmental and continuous improvement initiatives.

·         Supervise, coach, and mentor operations technicians safely, responsibly and efficiently.

·         Process Plant technicians safely, responsibly, and efficiently.

·         Hands-on operation of process circuits as needed.

·         Ensure operation utilization to achieve safety, quality, and production targets.

·         Actively identifies and addresses opportunities for improvement.

·         Conducts pre-shift tailgate and weekly safety meetings.

·         Provides work assignments to operations technicians.

·         Approve time sheets and request for time-off.

·         Operates equipment, as required.

·         Oversees contractors, as required.

·         Ensures equipment and operator availability to achieve safety, quality and production targets.

·         Conducts performance evaluations and ensures training records and up to date and accurate.

·         Actively participates in Management Reviews and departmental general inspections.

·         Perform other duties, as assigned.

·         Strong behaviour-based safety culture with no reportable safety incidents or lost time accidents.

·         No environmental non-compliance events or reportable spills.

·         Product targets are met.

·         Budgetary constraints met.



·         At least five (5) years of responsible supervisory experience in an industrial operation is preferred.

Education, Qualifications, Tickets, Licences:

·         High school diploma or equivalent or higher education.

Physical Requirements

·         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, clearly communicate, hear, and visually inspect equipment and work areas.

·         The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

·         Work is in a surface plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.

·         Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment, as required.
