Physical Requirements

1.     While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.

2.     Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 60 pounds) during the course of the workday.

3.     Work is in a mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.

4.     Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the mine environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

SPECIFIC TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Management

·       Promote training of safety health & environmental awareness to prevent injuries and/or damage

·       Carry out and document field leadership safety interactions with work groups.

·       Take all appropriate actions to remove and/or manage the hazards within Construction work areas.

·       Ensure all incidents are reported via line management and ensure open communication is maintained for all HS&E information.

·       Lead and Participate in incident investigations and ensure actions are implemented and closed in the required time frames.

·       Ensure company Safety Management Systems are included in any review or development of Project Study documentation.

 

People and Performance

·       Develop working relationships with the Site Operations Team, to enable longer term working relationships between Project teams to grow.

·       Assist Project Manager in identifying resource skills and opportunities within the Project Execution team to execute tasks and act as the liaison with these resources to initiate and manage electrical projects being undertaken.

·       Communicate regularly and effectively with colleagues to promote a harmonious working environment.

·      Provide direct support to the Project Manager in any means needing

 

Operational Responsibilities

·       Participate in Schedule and Estimate development for Capital Works.

·       Participate in the design review process, focusing on implementation and constructability issues.

·       Liaise with Operations concerning site activities prior to and during project activities.

·       Coordinate interfaces between the project, Operations and other business activities regarding the completion of project site activities.

·       Monitor site activities and report progress against approved schedules.

·       Monitor site activities and report non-conformance issues through the project management team.

·       Monitor site activities to identify and then implement possible efficiencies and gains to assist in project delivery.

·       Maintain daily records of works management, including incidents, progress, delays and the achievement of milestones. Ensure the Project Manager is promptly informed of all relevant matters and developments associated with construction activities and site works management.

·       Assist in the development of detailed schedules for any tie-in or plant shutdowns that effect Production.

·       Take charge and directly manage site activities for critical tie-in or plant shutdowns that effect Production.

·       Provide technical support to the project management team

·       Ensure that housekeeping around Construction works is maintained to a high standard

·       Maintain a presence at contractor pre-start and safety meetings.

·       Participate in Project Risk assessment development and actively monitor/implement subsequent control measures.

 

Schedule

·       Responsible for the completion of all construction projects safely, in a timely fashion and on schedule

·       Responsible for the tracking and reporting against schedule for electrical projects per the requirements of the construction manager

·       Actively participates in electrical projects under area of control to ensure no impact on the critical path of the schedule

·       Proactively highlight any events that may adversely affect project schedule to the construction manager in a timely fashion

·       Actively looks for opportunities to accelerate works to provide schedule opportunities in area of control.

 

Cost

·       Have a detailed understanding of the budget allocation for the Construction Works being undertaken.

·       Provide data for the development and subsequent management of cost tracking of Construction Works as per direction of the PM.

·       Ensure AFEs and/or Professional Service Agreements and/or Contracts and/or Purchase Orders are in place and up to date with the correct approvals in place prior to work being undertaken.

·       Actively look for opportunities to implement cost savings without effecting safety, schedule or quality.

 

Quality

·       Ensure all activities within area of control are completed to the specifications nominated for the works being undertaken

·       Ensure all electrical projects under area of control are completed to a standard that meets OGC specs and complies to all city, state and national codes.
