  1. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Management

·       Actively promote safety health & environmental awareness to prevent injuries and/or damage.

·       Maintain a health, safe and environmentally compliant work environment.

People and Performance Management

·       Develop junior staff in geostatistics and resource estimation modelling.

·       Mentor technical personnel with projects and studies as required.

·       Communicate regularly with all staff to ensure that goals and priorities are clearly understood.

·       Promote a harmonious working environment.

Operational Responsibilities

·        Validate data and information for accuracy and completeness.

·        Identify metal domains, trends, variography, and optimal estimation parameters for accurate grade estimation.

·        Calculate Mineral Resources for internal use and external reporting requirements.

·        Incorporate business-wide information into grade models (geology, mineral analysis, geotechnical, metallurgy).

·        Ensure models are up to date with the latest information.

·        Reconcile Mineral Resources to Mill Produced.

·        Provision of reports, schedules and other management instruments to improve effective management of the project.

·        Assess, design, implement, and refine ore control modelling.

·        Creation of appropriate systems that effectively collect, store, and disseminate relevant information to the working groups.

·        Undertake preliminary or detailed analyses of exploration targets and resources.

·        Advance the geological knowledge of the deposit.

·        Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required.

Schedule

·       Actively manages work under area of control to ensure no impact on the critical path of the schedule.

·       Identifies possible upcoming schedule risks within area of control and initiates control measures to mitigate effects on overall project schedule.

·       Actively looks for opportunities to accelerate work and provide schedule opportunities in area of control.

 

Cost

·       Exercise budgetary and variation control to ensure costs are not exceeded without proper authority.

·       Actively look for opportunities to implement cost savings without effecting safety, schedule or quality.

 

Quality

·       Ensure all activities within area of control are completed to the specifications nominated for the works being undertaken.

·       Ensure all works under area of control are completed to a standard that is fit for purpose and meets the end-users’ requirements.

 

  1. PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Education & Qualifications

·       A recognized degree in Geology.

·       Certificate of training in non-linear estimation methods.

·       Desirable - Competent Person for the reporting of Mineral Resources under JORC 2012 and NI43-101.

 

Skills & Experience

Pre-Requisite

·       10+ years’ geology experience in the mining industry.

·       5+ years’ Mineral Resource estimation in gold.

·       Demonstrable understanding of and capability in non-linear estimation methods with gold.

·       Proficient with GS3 and/or MP3 software.

·       QAQC practices and reporting.

·       Involved in planning and implementing drill-out programs and feasibility studies.

·       Display a high degree of safety and environmental awareness and a drive for continuous improvement.

·       Strong results orientation and ability to consistently deliver against the plan.

·       Excellent planning, organizing, problem solving, and prioritization capabilities.

Desirable

·      Proficient with other mining software (Maptek, Leapfrog, MineSight, Acquire).

·      Recognition and identification of geologic and mineralogic characteristics of gold systems.

 

Personal Attributes

·       A motivated self-starter who can operate autonomously but when required can also accept and follow direction.

·       Must show respectful leadership behaviors.

·       Effective communication to interact with other departments and stakeholders.

·       Mentoring and training junior team members required.
