Mine Shift Supervisor


  1. Lead mining crew in the safe execution of the Mine Plan.
  2. Lead all crew personnel and be a conduit to deal with all matters that arise
  3. Interact with the mine trainer to develop and train qualified equipment operators
  4. Interact with the drill and blast supervisor to ensure safe and effective blasting operations
  5. Enforce company safety standards
  6. Drive a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and high performance
  7. Follow mine plans
  8. Follow environmental standards
  9. Follow pit slope management practices

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Leadership skills
  2. Ability to communicate effectively
  3. Experience supervising groups of employees
  4. Experience directing the work of contractors



  1. Know capabilities of mobile mining equipment
  2. Working knowledge of Drilling and blasting practices including controlled drilling and blasting techniques utilizing electronic programmable detonators
  3. Large-scale earth moving operations
  4. Mine dewatering
  5. Pit slope control



  1. High school diploma or equivalent or higher


  1. Previous Supervisor or Lead Role in a Mine Setting
  2. Familiar with MSHA regulations
  3. Dealing with regulatory entities
  4. Safety leadership of personnel in an operating environment

Reasoning Ability:

  • Must possess the ability to apply common sense or logic to a problem solving solution


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current Driving License

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday
  • Work is in an open pit mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in the mine environment including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment as required
