JOB RESPONSIBILITES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Drilling:

Support core drilling at Haile gold mine

Assist with operation of LF90 core drill

Manual handling of 10-ft drill pipe

Remove core from drill barrel and box core

Core boxes accurately and clearly labeled

Mix and pump drilling additives

Dig and line mud sumps

Move drill and equipment between drill sites

Other:

Practice good housekeeping and safe work

Conform to safety and environmental policies

Follow procedures and SOPs as instructed by lead driller

Conduct daily equipment inspections; report defects

Operate light vehicle F250 on public and mine roads

Operate water truck and fill from designated pumps

Replace broken or worn parts using hand tools 

Lubricate equipment

Perform other work as required

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

Education

On-the-job training or Vocational education

Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

High school diploma or equivalent

Skills & Abilities

Enjoy outdoor work

Mechanical aptitude

Team building skills

Good written and verbal communications skills

Knowledge of Federal and State laws & safety regulations

Mining experience preferred but not required

Drilling experience preferred but not required

Language & math skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos

Ability to write legibly

Ability to perform basic math

SCHEDULE

12-hour shifts 5am-5pm Monday-Thursday, sometimes Friday

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work outdoors for 12 hour shifts (includes breaks)

Stand, sit, use manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see

Lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)

Exposure to extremes in temperature (10F to 100F), wind and humidity (up to 100%)

Personal protective equipment is required including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, reflective clothing, gloves, and face masks
