Superintendent - Mine Engineering

The role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated Superintendent - Mine Engineering. Reporting to the Manager - Technical Services, you will be responsible for all facets of mine engineering for the underground operations. This primarily includes but is not limited to all resolutions of mine planning, production engineering, development design, historical void management, operational budgeting, and ventilation. This position will lead with a strong and decisive style and be the key interface between the Operations and Technical teams for the underground mine.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage the creation and implementation of schedules for all resolutions of mine planning
  • Manage the short term planning process and interface with operations to track and report on attainment to plan
  • Ensure mine designs and schedules are completed, reviewed and submitted for budgeting purposes
  • Manage the mine design process such that accurate mine designs are completed in a timely manner
  • Manage the design and implementation of minor infrastructure projects to support underground operations
  • Oversee mine ventilation so that ventilation surveys are conducted in accordance with required regulations
  • Ensure robust ventilation planning is in place, and ventilation infrastructure is constructed without delay

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A recognised degree in Mining Engineering or accepted equivalent
  • Full and current driver's licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
  • Minimum of five years post graduate experience in an underground mining environment
  • Proven record of strong leadership and people management
