Engineer – Mine Planning

The role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Mine Planning Engineer in our Martha Underground Operation. As an integral part of the mine planning function you will lead the creation of mining schedules for our exciting and unique underground operation with multiple and varied mining methods and techniques. As the key link to between the planning and implementation you will work closely with operational teams to bring the plans to life on a daily basis.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Creation and maintenance for mining schedules for one week to one year time period
  • Population of weekly planning tools for use by operations teams
  • Work alongside the operations teams to prepare monthly mining schedules inline with the yearly forecasts
  • Lead weekly and monthly planning meetings
  • Ensure that the most up to date development and production designs are integrated into short term schedules as soon as available
  • Track compliance to plan at multiple resolutions
  • Prepare mining schedules for use in quarterly forecasts and budgets

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A recognised degree in Mining Engineering or accepted equivalent
  • Full and current driver's licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
  • Minimum of three years post graduate experience in an underground mining environment
  • Production experience in narrow vein mines
  • A full and current Driver Licence with the ability to drive manual vehicles
