Specialist - Maintenance Planning

OceanaGold's Macraes Mine is looking for an experienced Maintenance Planner to join the underground team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing efficient maintenance processes within a heavy industry environment. Macraes is New Zealand's largest gold mine, with 650 employees and contractors on site, therefore there are excellent career prospects. Enjoy the stunning Otago scenery at weekend as this is a Monday to Friday position.

The role

This position involves the scheduling of regular servicing and the planning of short, medium and long term maintenance plans for repairs and component exchange on mobile equipment. Responsible for planning cost effective maintenance and ensuring equipment availability targets are met.

Key tasks and responsibilities include the following:

  • Carry out specific responsibilities as defined in project management systems
  • Ensure compliance and the use of project documentation and systems for all procedures and risk assessments.
  • Chairing weekly planning meetings
  • Order Parts and look after accounts in Red Map
  • Creating short, medium and long term maintenance plans as directed by the Mobile Fleet Application Specialist or Maintenance Superintendent and the maintenance budget
  • Timely and effective planning of maintenance and resources to maintain equipment to relevant standards with minimal equipment down time
  • Maintaining planning and reporting systems to acceptable standards
  • Plan for and facilitate the effect utilisation of available resources
  • Producing and disseminating maintenance plans
  • Ensure periodic reports are accurate and submitted on time
  • Working to the highest safety standards in accordance with company procedures and legislation

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification desirable, or minimum 5 years mechanical experience
  • Relevant Planning Experience (Mining), 5 years or Planning skills from other areas in the Heavy Auto trade
  • Full, clean class 1 driver's licence and the ability to drive a manual preferred.
