OceanaGold’s Waihi Mine is seeking a Surveyor to join the Survey team working Underground. The role

Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor you will be responsible for ensuring all the daily underground survey duties and office tasks are planned and completed. This is a key role that is integral to the activities of the underground mining operation.

The role would suit a motivated and confident surveyor who would like to enjoy the lifestyle of an eight days on six days off roster, living locally to the mine site and all the area has to offer.

Key tasks and responsibilities include the following:

  • Update and maintain an accurate digital record of the mine workings
  • Install and maintain alignment lasers for mine development direction
  • Provide set out for development and production operational tasks
  • Carry out CMS and CALS Scans of workings
  • Create and provide survey memos, plans and instructions
  • Maintain and extend the underground survey control network

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in Surveying
  • Two years of surveying industry experience, mine or tunnelling experience is an advantage
  • Familiar with using Leica total stations and surveying software
  • A full, current driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual
