Serviceman - Open Pit Maintenance

The role

Safely and efficiently perform daily servicing (fueling and lubrication) and planned maintenance of all mining machinery and ancillary plant/equipment under control of the open pit maintenance workshop. At all times, display a high degree of professionalism and quality workmanship to ensure that cost effective maintenance and repairs are delivered.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping of all facilities, equipment, and company vehicles
  • Apply contamination control methodologies for all work undertaken
  • Record and report usage of all components, parts, and other resources on work-order job cards
  • Planned maintenance (servicing) of all mining, ancillary and support plant
  • Provide assistance tothefleet maintenance techniciansand other workshop personnel
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) specified forequipmentor tasks and be involved in the development and review/revision of procedures when required

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Full and current driver's licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
  • National Certificate in Automotive Heavy Engineering - Plant and Equipment Level 3 - 4 or Trade Certificate in Automotive Engineering
  • Previous experience in the servicing, repairs and maintenance of heavy machinery
  • Similar experience in an industry such as forestry, agriculture androad transport carrying out similar types of work will be considered
  • Previous experience with operating of heavy plantand equipment an advantage
