The Principal objective of this role is to service, diagnose and undertake electrical repairs to wide variety of underground earthmoving equipment in accordance with OGL procedures and policies.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Performing scheduled and breakdown maintenance on Sandvik LH517i Automine capable Loaders, Automine systems and operator stations
- Carrying out, preventative maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis work on all Underground Mining equipment to a high standard of quality which maintains the integrity of the equipment and does not compromise safe operation
- New installations of electronic systems and components
- Maintain a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures.
- The ability to work unsupervised and in a team
- Ensure that all underground equipment is mechanically and electronically maintained in accordance with company policy and to the same specifications as provided for by the Original Equipment Manufacturer.
- Ensure that no modifications are conducted on any plant that will change it from its original specifications without the correct approvals.
- To ensure all the necessary service and repair documentation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Actively promote, seek out and participate in drives that will lead to improvements in safety, productivity and cost effectiveness.
- Full and current Class 1 Driver Licence, the ability to drive manual vehicles
- Appropriate/Relevant trade qualification
- Previous experience in a 24-hour, continual process production environment and in a heavy industrial environment is preferred but not essential.
- Must have effective problem solving skills, including the ability to analyse a problem in order to select an appropriate solution
- Must be able to achieve set goals, including utilising and organising given resources.
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen to and convey information to achieve a positive result.
- A high level of physical fitness and a willingness to contribute to the team environment.
- A good degree of computer literacy is desired.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining quality is essential.
- Display a high level of accuracy and meticulousness
- Display good housekeeping and possess a high degree of safety awareness.
