We are seeking an Automotive Apprentice to join the team based at our Waihi operation. This opportunity will allow you to complete credits towards the National Certificate in Motor Industry (Automotive Heavy Engineering) (Level 3 and 4) as per the Apprenticeship plan.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Repairs, maintenance and daily inspection of the mining fleet and other plant and equipment
- Daily servicing (refueling and lubrication) of mining and ancillary plant when required
- Inspections of site facilities, tooling and other equipment as directed
- Replacements of machinery components
- Computer diagnostics and fault finding
- Maintaining high levels of housekeeping at all facilities, equipment and company vehicles
- Repair and rebuilding of machinery components
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, working towards company procedures
- Basic repairs to electrical systems on the mining fleet and ancillary plant
- Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred
- Commitment to completing the National Certificate in Automotive Heavy Engineering - Plant and Equipment Level 3 & 4
- Basic computer literacy is essential
- At a minimum, has completed an automotive engineering pre-trade qualification
