The Director Commercial OceanaGold Philippines Inc (OGPI) role is crucial in supporting the CFO & VP Finance OGPI to establish, embed and maintain smooth operation of the entire Commercial Finance function. This role focusses on maintaining a strong financial governance and improvement function in three key areas:
- Promotion of continuous process improvement, encompassing project improvement activity supporting the Didipio Uplift Case and Didipio Underground Optimization (DUO) project, automation of manual processes, and transition and initial establishment of the operating model supporting transactional activity delivery via a finance shared services function.
- Coaching to the broader Commercial and Finance teams, with a focus on development and capability support to the finance superintendents and managers
- Establishing and overseeing adherence to regulatory finance requirements and internal OGC finance policies
Some Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the external and internal financial audit engagements
- Facilitate the recording of issues, risks, and improvement opportunities for commercial
- Implement opportunities to improve control and reduce process weakness within the Didipio commercial function
- Collaborate to enhance finance and procurement process documentation and improve overall governance and compliance
- Support the delivery of the quarterly reforecasts and annual LOMP Base Case and Uplift Case plans.
- Support the delivery of all financial inputs for the annual budget
- Lead the coordination and delivery of all financial inputs for Ni43-101 reporting
- Promotes safe work and the Safe Behaviours Program
- Bachelor degree in related tertiary qualification (Commerce, Law, Supply Chain, Procurement or equivalent)
- Internationally recognised finance post graduate qualification (CPA, CA, CFA or equivalent) including a current member of the CA, CPA or CFA financial institution
- 10+ years' experience in a combination of commercial as well as management and/or strategy roles, with a proven track-record of success in leadership positions, ideally within the mining industry
- Experience coaching Financial Service managers on preparation of technical accounting papers on topical accounting issues and control opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience working in a developing country, coaching, and managing a team (highly advantageous)
- MBA or post graduate qualification in resources related discipline (desired)
- Relevant IFRS and financial reporting technical theory and knowledge of international business practices and legislative environments in a mining operational context
- Exposure to Global shared business services models
- Understanding of Philippine tax law and legislative requirements associated with transfer pricing and taxes (highly advantageous)
- Excellent command of English, with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced use and understanding of various company & departmental systems including Pronto, Microsoft Suite and Power BI
- Ability to build and maintain strong key stakeholder relationships through regular formal and informal engagement and collaboration
