The Superintendent – Resource Development is responsible for the management of the Resource Development and Database Geological functions. They will manage oversight of all geological, resource definition, resource modelling, estimation, database, and reporting functions to maximise the profitable extraction of resources for all Waihi mining operations.
The role will also provide input into resource definition drilling programmes and have oversight of geological modelling and resource estimation functions to maximise the resource development pipeline into scoping, prefeasibility and feasibility studies for advanced projects and ensure regulatory and corporate governance compliance for OceanaGold Waihi resources.
- Capable of acting as Competent Person/Qualified Person for narrow-vein Epithermal Gold
- Minimum of 12 years experience in mine geology and reconciliation, resource development, project execution, geological and resource modelling
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
- Strong technical computing and project management skills (planning & budget management)
- High level of competency in the use of modelling and estimation software (Vulcan, Supervisor/Isatis, Leapfrog, Leapfrog EDGE) with a strong background in problem solving and 3D visualisation skills.
- Good understanding of geostatistical and classical estimation methods
- Strong verbal communication and report writing skills
