An experienced supply chain professional is required, to develop and lead the procurement, logistics/warehouse, tendering / contracts teams, to deliver significant savings and other value adding initiatives to benefit the New Zealand operations.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop and implement systems and procedures that ensure continual liaison with the supply chain (internal and external) with a view to meeting or exceeding agreed quality, time and cost requirements.
- Implement and maintain effective and accurate inventory control systems, including minimum/maximum stock levels, rolling stock takes, and provide meaningful reporting information on stock levels and stores efficiency.
- Continually investigate supply and delivery options to ensure optimum quality and price.
- Negotiate and co-ordinate the tendering process of supply contracts, monitor performance and maintain meaningful recording and reporting of transactions.
- Ensure safe and proper storage of inventory at all times.
- Coordinate/assist and ensure implementation of globally aligned contracts, processes and best practice where agreed for all Commercial expenditure.
- Carry out planning and scheduling of major consumables, allowing for contingencies, to ensure operational and budget requirements are met or exceeded.
- Maintain on-going identification and investigation of alternative transport and delivery options with a view to maximising efficiencies in cost, quality and delivery times.
- Develop and mentor purchasing and warehouse personnel to ensure they have a high level of competency.
- Provide leadership and coaching to establish a strong culture of continuous improvement.
- A tertiary qualification in Logistics / Distribution / Supply Chain Management or similar is preferred.
- Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
- Previous management /supervisory experience within a supply chain environment.
