Job Description

Seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Supervisor – Financial Accounting on a Project based employment to be responsible for complete and accurate sales/expense journals and ensures accuracy of income tax computations and payables. Prepares journal entries, accounts analysis and reconciliations for month end general ledger close and financial reporting.

This is a great opportunity to leverage your previous experience in community development fund accounting functions and to mentor and coach our highly engaged community development fund team and the dynamic Didipio workforce to achieve outstanding results and ongoing drive for continuous improvements.The role will report to the Manager- External Affairs & Communications

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • The ability to present fairly the interim and yearend financial statements of the company to aid Management in decision-making;
  • The ability to process and record financial transactions through verification, validation, and vouching of documents;
  • The ability to ensure efficient operations and provide support to the team;
  • Supervise and provide guidance and support to the administrative processes;
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to use stakeholder engagement to deliver strategic benefit; and
  • Engages effectively on complex issues with hostile stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way;
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
  • Certified Public Accountant;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar accounting;
  • Pronto ERP experience is highly preferred;
  • Knowledge of Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, General Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bookkeeping;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Work well under pressure and meet set deadlines;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information; and
  • Critical thinking and decision-making ability.
