This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the Enterprise Risk Management Program across the site.
- Build risk management capability through supporting and facilitating risk management training
- Provide guidance and oversight of the risk management process, including facilitating bowtie assessments, Risk Owner Self Assessments, and Control Owner Self Assessments
- Coordinate the roll-out and adoption of any future ERM systems
- Coordinate site-wide risk management activities including facilitation of the annual risk profile review
- Become the first port of call for risk management questions from staff at site and facilitate risk management discussions
- Facilitate the rhythm of continuous improvement by being the risk management conscience for the site
- Build rapport with different stakeholders, form alliances and work effectively.
- Participate on Risk Management reviews with Corporate Head of Risk and Risk Leads from the other OGC sites.
- Establish and maintain the highest possible standards of safety in individual work area and mine site in general.
- Carry out all other duties that may reasonably be required.
- A relevant bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or risk management is preferred, Advanced certification in Risk Management is accepted.
- Proven experience in risk management within the mining or a related heavy industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively convey complex risk information to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and drive performance in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in using risk management software and data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated commitment to achieving an injury free workplace.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, lead and develop people in a manner which results in a sustained change in behavior and performance.
- A medium level of competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
- Effective report writing, presentation preparation and verbal communication skills.
- Developed analytical skills and effective leadership capabilities.
- Ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear, and see.
- Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
