The Macraes Mine is in the Waitaki Whitestone Global UNESCO Geopark, the only UNESCO geopark in Oceania. The Macraes Mine is comprised of several open pit mines and the Golden Point Underground Mine. Our Waihi Operation is located in the Waihi township on the North Island of New Zealand within a district that has produced 8 Moz of gold to date. Gold has been mined in the Waihi area since the 1800s, with OceanaGold acquiring the Waihi mine in 2015. We are currently mining the Martha Underground and advancing the Waihi North Project (including Wharekirauponga) nearby. The operation employs over 400 people.

Didipio (Phillipines)
Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operated as an open pit mine until it fully transitioned to an underground mine in 2019. Today, over 800 employees support the mine. The Didipio Mine, located in the host community of Barangay Didipio in the province of Nueva Vizcaya is approximately 270kms north-east of Manila. Just a short drive away from the Didipio Operation are the Capisaan Caves – the fifth longest cave system the Philippines.
