Play a key role in developing the value of OceanaGold’s mineral resources at existing operations and future projects by effective optimisation, mine design and scheduling of mineral resources.
Key responsibilities:
- Gathering and providing relevant and timely information for maximum economic mine plans.
- Proactively and continually assess the overall mining strategy.
- Work with other team members to optimise underground / open pit interfaces and mining areas to provide the maximum value for the Macraes operation.
- Generate the life of mine (LOM) mining plan and develop budgets.
- Prepare Ore Reserves statements for Macraes operations.
- Monitor and report on mining costs and performance against the long-term plan.
- Update mine designs as required, to ensure efficiency of operations.
- Communicate designs, schedules and cost models to the operational technical and mining teams.
- Develop and maintain database for key resource to reserve assumptions, parameters and procedures, including a regular reconciliation to actual performance • Assist in the development strategy of the Macraes operations
Qualifications
- Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
- Degree in Mining Engineering essential.
- Four years of postgraduate industry experience.
- Mine scheduling skills using specialist scheduling software.
- Strong technical mining skills with ability to do basic programming Cost modelling and economic evaluation skills.
