Job Description
Seeking a suitable, qualified, and reliable Graduate-Mining Engineer to support the underground mining operations team. The role includes hands-on experience and comprehensive training in various aspects of mining engineering, including mine planning, operations, safety, and environmental management. The role will report to the Senior Engineer- Production.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Develop practical underground mining experience by spending time working underground as a truck operator, jumbo offsider, service crew operator, charge-up operator and production drill operator
- Gain exposure to various aspects of mining engineering via a structured program that includes mine data collection, daily/weekly/monthly production reporting, drill & blast, ventilation, mine infrastructure projects, mine design, mine scheduling and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the performance of the operation by completing safety and production improvement projects as assigned by the Senior Engineer – Production
Qualifications
- Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Corp. Values and the OceanaGold Way
- Licensed Mining Engineer
- Ability to perform tasks to a prescribed deadline whilst ensuring quality
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, logical aptitude and confidence in raising and addressing issues
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Willing to spend time working in an underground operational environment
- With a Valid Professional Driver’s License
