Job Description
About the role
Seeking a suitably qualified and reliable Driver – Light Vehicle (Makati Based) who will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely transport of personnel, documents, and goods to designated locations while adhering to traffic regulations and company policies. The role will report to the Administrative Assistant – Makati Office.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Apply defensive driving techniques to anticipate and prevent potential hazards
- Maintain professionalism and promote a culture of safe and responsible driving;
- Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and in good working condition at all times
- Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle's roadworthiness to ensure compliance with the company standards and Philippine Land Transportation Office standards
- Prioritize road safety, maintain discipline, and be courteous to other road users;
- Communicate professionally with respect for others or internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure good physical and mental condition at all times to keep focus and alertness
- Follow the company standard operating procedures to maintain a safe and harmonious work environment
- Conduct basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of the vehicle's condition
- Conducts job hazard analysis or risk assessment using available methods to determine the necessary controls to reduce risks to an acceptable level
- Report any safety concerns to enable to address them immediately
Qualifications
- Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
- High school graduate; vocational training in driving or a related field is an advantage
- Holds a valid Professional Driver’s License
- Possession of a valid National Certificate Level II (NC II) is an advantage
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a VIP driver or in a corporate setting
- With good English communication skills (both oral & written) are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with expatriates
- Must be willing to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, still in accordance with fatigue management procedures and Company policies
- Willingness to travel and be away from family as needed to meet job requirements
- Must be open to working on Saturdays and Sundays, with designated weekdays off (e.g., work schedule from Friday to Tuesday, with Wednesday and Thursday as days off)
- With excellent customer service skills
