Reporting to the Director of Tax, this role plays a key part in managing Canadian and international tax matters, including tax accounting and compliance, to support OceanaGold’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee Canadian and international tax compliance processes.
- Prepare and review key components of quarterly and year-end tax reporting.
- Stay up to date with changes in Canadian and international tax legislation and lead the response to any updates.
- Assist in developing and analyzing tax planning opportunities.
- Conduct and report on tax research as needed.
- Manage and monitor external tax advisors.
Education & Certification:
- Undergraduate degree, combined with a Canadian CPA designation.
- Completion of CPA Canada’s In-Depth Taxation Course (Level 1 and Level 2 required; Level 3 preferred).
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of tax experience, ideally from a Big 4 firm.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax legislation; experience in the natural resources or mining industry is highly desirable but not required.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Self-motivated, hardworking, and eager to take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.

The annual salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $165,000. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate's unique skills, expertise, individual qualifications, and assessed contributions to the role following the completion of the interview process.
