Job Description

The Paramedic provides advanced emergency medical care and health support within a mining environment. This role involves responding to on-site medical emergencies, stabilizing patients, and ensuring safe transport to appropriate medical facilities. The Paramedic also plays a key role in promoting occupational health and safety, conducting routine health checks, and supporting emergency preparedness programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies on-site, including trauma, cardiac, and respiratory incidents.
  • Provide advanced life support (ALS) and administer medications as per protocols.
  • Assess and stabilize patients in challenging environments, including underground or remote areas.
  • Coordinate patient transport to external healthcare facilities when required.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and comply with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Conduct routine health assessments for employees and assist with fitness-for-duty evaluations.
  • Support emergency response drills and contribute to site safety initiatives.
  • Ensure medical equipment and supplies are maintained and ready for use.
  • Collaborate with Health & Safety team to identify and mitigate health risks.

Qualifications

  • Education: Accredited Paramedic program completion.
  • Certification: Current Paramedic license; CPR, ACLS, and trauma certifications required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in industrial or remote settings preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong clinical judgment and ability to work under pressure.
    • Knowledge of occupational health and safety principles.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to mining environments, including underground and remote areas.
  • Physical demands include lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing.
  • Rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
