The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine. Reporting to the Asset President - Didipio, you hold a vital role in ensuring the success of both the Didipio Mine and the Makati office by:
- Effectively manage and coordinate human resources activities throughout a life cycle of an employee from a strategic lens.
- Ensure the organization complies with employment laws, internal policies, and industry standards by embedding compliance into the day-to-day HR operations ensuring transparency, consistency, and legal defensibility while supporting a high-performance culture.
- Create a culture that drives ‘Our safe Behaviours’, The OceanaGold Way and Respect at work.
- Focuses on shaping and enabling a high-performance, values-driven culture through the development of leadership capability across all levels of the organization.
- Serves as a strategic partner to executive leaders and line managers by aligning HR practices with evolving business priorities, and by designing and leading workforce planning strategies that support long-term business goals.
- Ensures projects are scoped effectively, resourced adequately, and delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining alignment with stakeholder expectations and governance requirements.
- Continuously improve processes and systems to ensure efficiency and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Facilitate the performance review process and help employees if they face any challenges during the same.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Asset President – Didipio Operations and other internal and external parties.
- Effectively lead, develop and coach the People and Culture team.
- Graduate of Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or any related field. Master’s degree in human resources or organizational development is highly desirable.
- Min 10 years' experience in senior Human Resources roles
- Extensive management and leadership experience
- Experience in developing and implementing HR strategies, policies and programs that align with business strategies.
- Strong understanding of local employment laws and regulations
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR best practices, employee engagement strategies, talent management and organizational development
- Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resource Information System) and HR technologies
- Understanding of compensation, benefits, and performance appraisal system
- Able to make data driven decisions to align HR initiatives with the overall business objectives and drive organizational change.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs.
- To support the requirements of this role, you must be based in Makati and be able to travel to the mine site on a fortnightly rotational basis.
