OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and motivated Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) who will be responsible for the implementation and supervision of systems required in ensuring the quality completion of mobile & equipment maintenance services and optimize the production and efficiency of mobile plant equipment by analyzing and reviewing processes, technologies, and equipment performance.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Engineering Design and Project Management
- Equipment and process Analysis
- Assist and coordinate in the condition monitoring analysis, and equipment troubleshooting to identify failure modes
- Making decisions on what maintenance type to use to manage various operating conditions and conduct final checking of equipment and recommends release
- Plan and estimate required hours of work and skills required to perform the task
- Responsible for the maintenance of organized and updated documentation for all maintenance works including safety documentation, work plans, maintenance records, tools and equipment inventories, and all other important data necessary for the records
- Provide reports and activity updates to Superiors and assists in ensuring the timely submission of all types of Mobile Maintenance reports
- Implement maintenance activities with the appropriate recording and reporting tools in place to mitigate the risk of any breakdown and reworks
- Review mechanical plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- Ensures all work orders and maintenance logs are closed out when work is finished
- Formulate insights and recommendations for modification and enhancement to improve quality and efficiency
- Develops strategies that promote an increase in efficiency and productivity
- Inspection of mechanical equipment and facilities to meet standards set by law and by the Company
- Provide mechanical engineering discipline support to production, maintenance and project teams

- Graduate in Mechanical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer
- Must have a valid Certificate of Registration
- With at least ten (10) years of solid experience in mechanical system design and analysis preferably in the Mining industry
- Preferable with four (4) years of active practice as a Professional Mechanical Engineer reckoned from the time he was registered as a Professional Mechanical Engineer
- With a valid Professional Driver’s license
- With an in-depth understanding and appreciation of the Mining Act and regulations
- Can develop and conduct training modules
- With an Underground Mining experience is an advantage
- With good technical writing and communication skills
- With good leadership and people management skills
- Have strong planning, scheduling, and effective presentation skills
