- Review project schedules and project plans, ensuring that all activities are identified, are appropriately organized to deliver project objectives, and comply with the organization's project management framework. Providing feedback to Planners and Supervisors.
- Deliver small- large scale projects while working within an established program management plan. Reviewing and making changes to management plan as needed to increase efficiencies.
- Follow the organization's HS&E policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions, to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behaviour within the team and take appropriate action to resolve these, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
- Define and deliver products and services that meet operations needs by selecting the best possible approaches available.
- Provide all necessary project schedules and updates to the Project Manager as needed.
- Identify and evaluate complex, expertise-led solutions against a range of criteria to find the ones that best meet business needs.
- Develop and propose own performance objectives; take appropriate actions to ensure achievement of agreed objectives, using the organization's performance management systems to improve personal performance. or manage and report on team performance; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these, taking appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.
- Review budgets for an area of the organization or conduct complex analyses on budget progress in other areas of the organization and provide input to project planners.
- Multitasking to track different projects on the property at the same time,
- Exhibiting calmness and diplomacy to ease tensions when conflicts and problems arise,
- Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
- Maintains a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and design purposes.
- Able to read and understand plans, and specifications.
- Have strong knowledge of Structural, Mechanical, and Piping systems. Commercial/Civil construction management experience
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear, and see.
- Must be able to work shift work with 10-hour shifts.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
- Previous civil construction field experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Civil/Commercial construction experience
- 6 years’ supervision/construction management experience
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Strong Computer/ Technology Skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, flexibility, and willingness to see projects through to completion are a must
