Senior Technician – Project Execution

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Senior Technician – Project Execution who primarily responsible for overseeing the installation of large diameter steel pipe networks, pumps, secondary fans, ventilation control devices, ladderways and other infrastructure in the Didipio underground mine. The role acts as a ‘second-in-charge’ and reports to the Supervisor – Project Execution.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Installation of pipe supports using an air leg drill and mobile scissor lift.
• Installation of large diameter steel and HDPE piping using an integrated tool carrier and work basket and/or scissor lift.
• Installation of secondary fans using integrated tool carrier and fan basket.
• Construction of drop board regulators and ventilation doors.
• Construction of concrete slabs and plinths for various underground infrastructure items.
• Installation of mechanical components for primary and secondary pumping systems and sumps.
• Installation of mechanical components for paste reticulation systems.
• Provide an ‘operator trainer’ function to ensure that technicians under training are properly trained to perform construction activities in accordance with OGPI and regulatory standards.
• Act in the role of Supervisor – Project Execution when the primary Supervisor is absent.

• Professional driver’s license

• Must have previous experience operating an air leg drill

• Must have previous construction or mine services experience

• Must have supervisory potential

• Poly welding qualification is a plus

• Previous concreting experience

• Previous experience installing large diameter steel pipes.

• Previous supervisory experience.
