OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Supervisor – External Affairs and Social Performance to provide leadership and guidance within the Didipio Mine external affairs and communications team to ensure and enhance positive relationships with the key external local stakeholders and efficiently and effectively implement the relevant programs. The role will be based in Didipio and reporting to the External Affairs and Communications Superintendent.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Implementation of stakeholder engagement plan;
- Identify areas/processes in the external relations programs for continuous improvement;
- Efficient and effective design and mechanism for the implementation of programs ensuring conformity with the External Affairs and Social Performance standards;
- Assist in enhancing the promotion of social investment programs to stakeholders in accordance with the Company’s communication standards;
- Assist in planning and developing communications strategies, programs, work plans, policies, and processes to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders; and
- Assist in organizing and spearheading activities or events geared towards increasing awareness of the operations, which include organizing and facilitating mine tours, science camp presentations, conferences, and other related activities.
Qualifications
- Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way;
- At least 2 years of experience working in a similar role;
- Minimum of 3 years working experience in the mining industry is an advantage;
- Proven strong presentation and communication skills;
- Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills;
- Highly developed project management and time management skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment, able to build strong relationships with stakeholders, regulators, and other members of the community;
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills and computer/information systems skills;
- Exhibits resourcefulness, initiative, and maturity of judgment;
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills and good political awareness;
- Experience in managing inter-institutional/organizational relations, preferably in the development field is an advantage;
- Experience in creating and implementing partnership strategies is an advantage;
- A strategic thinker, a calculated risk taker, and a creative marketer with a style that promotes credibility, respect, and trust; and
- Ability to identify and manage conflict situations.
