The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.
OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Supervisor – Water Management to optimize the water treatment plant requirements with utilization and throughput being obtained and water quality standards are met by the use of sound operating practices, Standard operating procedures, and personnel working in a safe and efficient manner to ensure all are sustainable on a daily basis. This individual will also supervise the facilities outside the processing plant that has a direct impact to process operations.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Leads and champions performance monitoring and troubleshooting efforts, implementing solutions to address all water treatment plant related issues
- Manages and coordinates test work requirements, ensuring the implementation of good water processing management, as well as cost reduction strategies
- Identify risks and hazards and assess their potential impact on mining operations
- Develop risk mitigation plans and procedures to address identified hazards
- Conducts safety investigation independently using various advanced investigation or root cause analysis techniques
- Applies a systematic and objective approach in workplace incident and accident investigations which include responding, reporting, gathering data and information, and implementation of corrective and preventive measures

Educational Background:
- Degree in Engineering or any related field
Work Experience and Background:
- Minimum of 5 years Construction, Mining or Mineral Processing Plant experience with at least five (2) years supervisory experience.
- Exposure to Water Treatment Facilities, including chemical reagents utilization.
- Previous experience within a performance-based culture would be an advantage.
- Previous management experience in manpower, process, and project management
Specialization/License:
- Valid LTO Driver’s License.
- Able to drive / operate light vehicle / light truck
Knowledge:
- Excellent planning, organizing, prioritization capabilities, and budgeting.
- Philippine Environmental laws and regulatory guidelines
Skills:
- High-level computer skills.
Abilities:
- Able to mentor water treatment team members.
- Display a high degree of safety and environmental awareness and a drive for continuous improvement.
- Result-oriented and ability to consistently deliver
