The role will work to safely and efficiently undertake the daily maintenance and repairs of the drill fleet within the underground mine. Additionally, carry out underground servicing duties and provide documentation and communication to support the weekly servicing schedule as required. At all times, a high degree of professionalism and quality workmanship will be required to ensure that cost effective maintenance and repairs are delivered.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Routine maintenance and inspection of the Sandvik mining drill fleet (including 5x Jumbo’s, 2x Solo’s, 2x Cablebolters)
- Servicing, daily inspections & repairs of the drill fleet
- Planned replacements of machinery components and component repair
- Backlog and defect recording and repairs
- Documentation of task via SIMBIO or Deswik recording app
- Identify and report parts, materials and other resources required to complete allocated tasks
- Record and report usage of all components, parts and other resources on work-order job cards
- Attend and actively input to pre-shift safety and tool box safety meetings
- National Certificate in Automotive Heavy Engineering - Plant and Equipment Level 4 or 5 or equivalent (preferred) or other relevant industry Trade qualifications
- Full, clean and current drivers licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is essential.
Experience
- 5 years minimum experience in repairs, maintenance and field service of heavy mining machinery in underground environments
- Computer literacy is essential
- Any experience with underground drill fitting highly beneficial
