Job Description
Our Macraes Operation is looking for an Underground Electrician to carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose and remedy faults and install and maintain underground electrical plant and installations. With a 7 on / 7 off roster, you'll gain that work/life balance, with 6 months off per year!
We will offer practical and rewarding experiences/training which will keep your workday varied. This will include but is not limited to training on submersible pumps, high voltage switching, leaky feeder communications systems, tele remote load haul dump operating systems, VSD’s and PLC’s.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Install and Maintain Underground electrical and communication networks
- Diagnosing faults or breakdowns
- Undertake repairs
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of the underground dewatering system
- Carry out electrical installation work
Qualifications
- New Zealand Electrical Practicing licence
- Hold, or have the ability to obtain an Electrical Mining endorsement.
- Working at heights and previous HV experience desirable
- Full Driver Licence, competent with driving manual vehicles
- Relevant underground mining or heavy industrial experience preferred but not essential, full traning will be available
- Effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse a problem and assess the most appropriate solution.

- Attractive 7 on, 7 off rotating day/night shift roster
- Free transport to site from Oamaru and Dunedin
- $124-140,000 per annum dependent on experience
