Our Underground Operations team are on the search for a Underground Production Charger operator. This position involves operating the Charmec charger and charge basket for the purpose of preparing and charging blast holes for stope production and for miscellaneous charging.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Load charmec and charge basket according to charge plan and ensure stock count is accurate
• Clean charge machines and baskets regularly, keep housekeeping standards high
• Refuel charge machines regularly
• Ensure site is prepared, packed up and cleaned up on start and finish of jobs
• Give a thorough shift changeover and pass on relevant information to cross shift
• Be able to charge up and down holes
• Provide support to the development charge crew as and when required.
• Ensure stock-takes are completed as per the Company policies and procedures and are accurate
• Record misfire’s as per the Company policies and procedures
• Submit all stope preparation reports at the end of each shift to the Shift Supervisor
• Submit all charge reports at the end of each shift to the Shift Supervisor
• Competent in the use of Davey electronic systems may be advantageous.

• Full and current driver licence and confidence driving manual vehicles over rough terrain
• Current pit permit
• Water down, scaling Training Ticket
• Truck Training Ticket
• Service Crew Training Ticket
• Approved Handlers Ticket
• Explosive Handling, Transport and Storage of Explosives and Detonators Ticket
• Passed out on all relevant Company policies and procedures

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years underground mining experience
• Demonstrated compliance with Company policies and procedures
• Must have proven experience as Service Crew and Development Charger

• Residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, NZ.
