Project Geologist

Responsibilities

  • Lead geological mapping, interpretation, 3D modelling, QA-QC of assay data, and design/supervision of infill drilling.
  • Execute continuous improvement (CI) initiatives, manage databases, and liaise across disciplines for mine development and exploration strategy. 

Progression

This role often involves coordinating Field Geologists, implementing cross-team communication, and potentially leading projects in resource definition or geological optimisation.

Project Geologist - Mine Geology

Scope

  • Maintain critical grade control systems to ensure ore quality and quantity.
  • Supervise resource definition and hydrogeological drilling, manage underground sampling, mapping campaigns, and communicate findings to Technical Services, Mining Management, Processing, and Operations teams. 

Skills

  • Proficiency with 3D software (Leapfrog, Minesight, Surpac, Deswik); strong logging and grade control experience; rigorous health and safety mindset; tertiary qualifications and licensure in geology. 

Career outlook

This role offers on-the-ground leadership in geology, bridging field insights with operational decisions and uptime.

Geologist – Hydrogeology

Tasks

  • Conduct ground and surface water monitoring, sampling, hydrogeological data collection, QA/QC, analysis, and equipment maintenance.
  • Support the development and implementation of hazard and water management plans (PHMP, Water Management), and manage uncontrolled underground water. 

Trajectory
