Job Description
Assisting the Construction Supervisor, this is a hands-on, practical role undertaking installation and minor maintenance activities across a range of construction projects within the Macraes mine site. If you’re a practical, mechanically minded individual that knows your way around large operating equipment, read on! Initially, this role will work on a 9-day fortnight structure, 7am – 4:30pm, with a 3-day weekend every fortnight (subject to change).
Key duties and responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections on the infrastructure, embankments, and pipelines associated with water supply systems
- Participate in the construction of minor earthworks, pipework, fencing and site infrastructure activities
- Preform general repairs and maintenance on pump and pipework installations
- Undertake relevant compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Oversee contractors to ensure compliance with safety systems project scope and site policies
- Operate earthmoving equipment undertaking minor civil projects as required
Qualifications
- Trade qualification in engineering, construction or similar an advantage
- Full and current Drivers Licence, competent driving manual vehicles
Experience:
- Practical experience in a mining construction or trade role
- Above average level of mechanical aptitude required
- Equipment operating experience an advantage
- Rigging and slinging experience an advantage
