Job Description
This is a residential role, live and work in the stunning region of Otago, New Zealand.
Have you mastered the Jumbo, why not bring that skill and experience to Macraes, home of New Zealand's largest gold mine. You will be joining an established site which has been operating the new Golden Point Mine for 3 years, working for a business committed to safely and sustainably mining the Otago goldfields. Responsibilities include:
- Undertake all tasks safely or stop the job.
- Ensure all ground support is installed to minimum standard or above as required.
- Ability to accurately markup faces to Mine plans and Memos and follow those plans.
- Ensuring all headings are mined to size, online and gradient.
- As senior team members you will promote a positive team culture, lead by example and mentor trainee operators.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years underground mining experience, 5 on a Jumbo.
- Competence at installation of bolts and mesh and at boring headings, including declines.
- Proven experience operating Sandvik Jumbo Drills.
- Experience with Spiling and SDA’s advantageous
- Experience as a Loader Operator and Development Charge Up.
- Current full drivers license
- Current First Aid Certificate.
