This role will positively contribute to creating value across the site of our world class process operation by fulfilling the duties of Maintenance Day Shift Fitter.
Skilled and dedicated trades people are vital to the overall success of the maintenance delivery team. Working in collaboration with their team members, planners, and operators, trades people must set their focus to ensure they perform their work safely, with quality and efficiency.
Excellent communication skills are crucial to your success in this role, along with a proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will need to be prepared to work 7am to 7pm, in a potentially dusty, cold, hot, wet, and windy environment; on an attractive 7 days on 7 days off roster, thus enjoying the lifestyle the region has to offer.
As an experienced and knowledgeable maintenance shift fitter, you will:
- Execute tasks in accordance with documented procedures, HSE processes including task-based risk assessments, and work procedures.
- Undertake regular preventative maintenance inspections on process plant and site infrastructure.
- Participate in the process of monitoring and acquiring performance and condition data.
- Scope and raise the appropriate work requests to action corrective maintenance on defective equipment.
- Participate in assigned shutdown tasks, including the supervision of contractors.
- Identify and report improvement opportunities that may be applied to future work
- Execute assigned tasks safely, to agreed quality standards and within agreed timeframes
- A relevant trade qualification – such as Fitter /Turner or Fitter /Welder.
- Previous experience in a continuous production environment.
- Significant experience of heavy fixed equipment.
- Effective decision-making skills.
- A high degree of safety awareness.
- Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
- Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred.
- Current New Zealand Working Visa (if applying from overseas)
