Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead the two-week onboarding process for new employees, focusing on plant layout, circuit overviews, equipment location, and operator responsibilities.
- Provide task training for all process plant equipment, including initial and refresher training.
- Manage equipment training records, both on paper and in the INX system.
- Support the Permit to Work Officer in maintaining safety systems and procedures.
- Implement and manage the plant cyanide code, including audit preparation.
- Manage gas detection equipment (portable and fixed monitors).
- Update and manage personnel training records in INX.
- Act as a representative when dealing with contractors and coordinate consultants as needed.
- Lead ICAM investigations for the processing department.
- Assist in organizing and assessing the annual process risk assessment for the plant.
- Identify areas for plant improvement and lead training presentations as required.
- Attend trainings/development programs and perform other duties as assigned by the company.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to groups
- Minimum 2 years' experience in plant operations (crushing, grinding, flotation, CIL, elution, and mobile support equipment)
- Minimum 1 year experience with LOTOTO and Permit to Work systems in mining or similar heavy industry
- Strong safety background and understanding of energy types and isolation procedures
- Ability to demonstrate and promote OGC values: Care, Respect, Integrity, Performance, and Teamwork
- Commitment to continuously improving safe and efficient plant operations
- Physical ability to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and wear required personal protective equipment in a mine environment
