Job Description

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified and reliable Trainer-Operations (E&I) to Design and deliver training programs that enhance learners' knowledge, skills, and competencies. Maintain training records and related documents of the Electrical and Instrumentation section. The role will report to the Superintendent (Training) - Mining/Operations.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • The ability to manage administrative aspects of the execution of training programs, including bookings, scheduling, database management, materials/resources preparation, evaluation, and costing;
  • The ability to effectively deliver training designs and achieve objectives in training. This involves facilitating the   acquisition   of knowledge, skills, behaviors, and attitudes, demonstrating essential knowledge areas, and assessing the effectiveness of the training delivery;
  • The ability to effectively control the creation, receipt, maintenance, use, and disposition of records by consistently following the record management procedures ensures accurate data, which maintains evidence of activities, transactions, and decisions;
  • The ability to oversee, verify, and ensure that all activities and deliverables meet the required standards of excellence instill confidence in stakeholders. This ensures that the organization’s goals and objectives are being met and that compliance with all regulatory, internal, and external stakeholder requirements is maintained; and
  • The ability to conduct training Needs analysis, design, implement, and manage training and development programs to improve employee skills and competencies and evaluate effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way;
  • Vocational or Technical training, completing a certificate , diploma, or associate degree program in  electrical or instrumentation technology.
  • Holder of Master Electrician license is highly desirable.
  • With at least five (5) years hands-on experience as an electrician, instrumentation technician or in a related role in Mining industry or equivalent. Background in wiring circuits, motors, controllers, meters and instrumentation systems.
  • With at least three (3) years relevant experience as a Trainer.
  • Completed Training Methodology 1 (TM1) or equivalent.
  • Holder of Workplace Trainer Certificate IV and Workplace Assessors Certificate IV.
  • MS Office proficient  particularly Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • With a valid Professional Driver’s License.
