OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Senior Business Partner – Contracts to manage and oversee tender and contract management, ensure that all commercial contracts/tender processes, terms, and conditions are well prepared/negotiated, followed, implemented, coordinated with internal/external customers, and completed. Responsible for implementing strategic sourcing in the procurement of goods and services to be under contract and warrant that goods and services of high value/risk are covered under contracts. The role will be reporting to the Superintendent – Procurement.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Maintains and updates contracts registry for the company and physical and digital records in coordination with the Legal Department
- Responsible for the preparation, revision, review, update, and completion of contracts for goods and services including preparation of contract plans and strategies
- Negotiate contract terms with external and internal customers and get the best value
- Ensure understanding and compliance by the internal customers/contract owners of the contract terms
- Collaborate with contract owners for the proper implementation of contract terms
- Attend contract meetings including performance evaluation meetings for suppliers/service provider as maybe required and ensure to report matters discussed in the meeting
- Implement contract management in accordance with applicable company standards/policies
- Identify goods and services for tender in coordination with relevant internal customers
- Prepare a tender plan including strategies to maximize the value of the tender process
- Timely completion of tenders
- Implement the procurement of goods and services guidelines as may be amended from time to time
- Ensure that high-risk/expenditure goods and services are under contract

- Graduate of Law, Engineering, Commerce, or other related courses
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience in contract management in a supervisory, superintendent, or managerial level
- Excellent knowledge of contract and tender forms, terms, conditions, and management
- With knowledge of procurement processes/standards or strategic sourcing
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills on commercial terms in contracts
- Good in planning, organizing, and managing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Professional work ethic behavior
- Computer literate
- Ability to work with multicultural teams
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the performance of the role
