Job Description

  • Lead analysis of cost drivers and unit-cost-variances to identify areas of focus.
  • Prepare monthly cost analysis and support departments to understand their costs.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support the annual budget and forecasting process, through collaboration and coordination with teams across site.
  • Preparation of monthly management reports and required ad-hoc reporting.
  • Support site end users with system functionality business processes
  • Review and monitor system controls and master data management
  • Analyze, document and implement changes to improve business processes, including through implementation of new and innovative systems

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ applicable experience
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Preferably mining or manufacturing industry background as you will be involved in the workings of the operation across multiple levels.
  • Ability to work as a team player and independently demonstrating a willingness to exercise initiative
  • Manage time sensitive deliveries and balance competing priorities
  • Advanced Excel skills and high-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and other Office applications.
  • High degree of lateral thinking, problem solving and complex reasoning
  • Experience using ERP systems, while specific experience with Pronto, Xeras, or OneStream systems an asset.
  • Degree qualified in Finance or Accounting, ideally with CPA or equivalent qualification.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
  • Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
  • Work is in a surface and underground mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
