Job Description
- Responsible for the planning and executing long-term scheduled plans for all equipment maintained by the department for both surface and underground.
- Responsible for maintaining a Zero-Injury workplace environment.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of long-term maintenance strategies for all equipment maintained by the department for both surface and underground.
- Ensures quality services are delivered on time, within budget, and sets team objectives aligned with OceanaGold’s Values and Visions.
- Focuses on proactive maintenance strategies to minimize unplanned downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure alignment of long-term maintenance plans with overall operational goals.
- Develops comprehensive, long-term maintenance strategies and plans, integrating production targets and business objectives.
- Analyzes historical data and trends to forecast future maintenance needs, identifying potential challenges and opportunities.
- Coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between long-term maintenance strategies and organizational goals.
- Provides recommendations for capital investment projects based on predictive analytics and long-term forecasting.
- Develop and manage asset life cycle plans, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring cost-effective asset utilization,
- Conduct detailed risk and cost-benefit analyses to recommend optimal asset replacement, refurbishment, or disposal strategies.
- Monitors asset performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and optimize reliability.
- Monitors and reports on capitalized components project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Licenses mechanical engineer.
- 7 years of supervisory experience in the metal and mining industry, with a proven track record of success in long-term planning and strategy development.
- Advanced understanding of mechanical systems and their applications in mining operations.
- Deep understanding of material science, including wear, corrosion, and fatigue.
- Strong Mathematical and Analytical Skills.
- Proficiency in Physics and Mechanics.
- Materials Knowledge.
- Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, and heat transfer principles as applied to industrial equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance processes, including predictive and preventive maintenance strategies.
- In-depth understanding of long-term maintenance strategies and their impact on overall business objectives.
- Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills in complex problem-solving and data analysis.
- Expertise in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for strategic planning, long-term budgeting, and capital expenditure forecasting.
- Advanced project management skills for overseeing long-term maintenance projects.
- Proven problem-solving capabilities with a strategic approach to machinery reliability and maintenance optimization.
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive long-term maintenance strategies that align with business goals.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to analyze equipment performance trends and adjust long-term maintenance plans accordingly.
- Strong leadership skills to guide maintenance teams in achieving long-term planning goals.
