Didipio

Didipio Operation

Explore the geological formations in the caves of Capisaan – the fifth longest cave system in the Philippines - enjoy the cool waters of the many waterfalls in Kasibu, or pick citrus fruits and other agricultural products. Or partake in a multi-cultural experience with the multitude of indigenous peoples living in the area. Or all of these, in just a short drive away from OceanaGold Corporation’s Didipio Operation.

Surrounded by the mountains of the Mamparang Range, the Didipio Operation lies in the Didipio Valley around 700 meters above sea level. It enjoys a cool climate all year-round, with an average of 226 days of rain annually. The wettest months are November and December, with April as the driest.

It is approximately 270 kilometers north-northwest of Manila, the Philippines’ capital, in Barangay Didipio in the municipality of Kasibu, the province of Nueva Vizcaya. It is in the southern portion of Cagayan Valley in the north-eastern part of the island of Luzon.

The Didipio Camp

Non-community residents will be accommodated in the Didipio Mine camp, where they can enjoy the great food served during all mealtimes; and during off times, go to the gym, or have a friendly game of basketball, volleyball, or badminton. Music afficionados can belt a few lines in the karaoke, or even jam with fellow music enthusiasts in our music room.

For those who want to sip a cup of joe, and have friendly banter with mates, there’s an onsite café that caters to your discerning palates. Or take your hot brew and sip it in the silence with a book or two in our mini library.

Our Purpose is to mine gold for a better future. The gold, copper, and silver we produce play a vital role in renewable energy, transportation, life-saving medical technologies, and the tools that connect communities worldwide. Beyond delivering these essential materials, our operations contribute to economic growth, education, and healthcare in the regions we serve. With over 3,700 employees and countless others indirectly supported, our purpose goes beyond mining. It’s about creating a sustainable future while improving lives through meaningful work.

The Didipio Community & Beyond

Just outside the camp gates, one can find the vibrant community of Didipio. Most economic activities happen in the Boulevard, the community’s main economic artery. There are many shops there where most necessities and other things can be bought. However, one needs to be mindful of the time, as most shops close at around 8pm, giving time for residents to rest and be ready for the next day’s activities.

The nearest major economic center is Santiago City, in the province of Isabela, which is around two hours away from the site.
